MAD DUKES FUN FACTS

The Mad Dukes were a trio of pop rock hopefuls
that arose out of a conceptual album recorded by Austin
singer songwriter Kim Simpson over 2005-2006.

The album, called The Mad Dukes Sing and Play for You,
came out on RiPPYFiSH Records and a real, three-man
version of the group - Kim, Bill Doughty, and Will Landin -
debuted at a SXSW tent party CD release in March 2006.
Other Mad Duke alumni include Kyle Etie and Kendall Simpson.

The Mad Dukes Sing and Play for You received nationwide airplay
on independent radio,
with the single "Looking for That Girl"
reaching no. 1 on the
Los Angeles-based New Music Weekly
"Hot AC" chart.
The group was named the "AC New Group of 2006"
by the publication,
and the Austin Chronicle listed
The Mad Dukes Sing and Play for You as one of the year's
notable local releases. NPR chose "Looking for That Girl" as its
song of the day in 2006.

The Mad Dukes have signed off for the time being,
but as the song says, they gave all the love
they could give.
